Thousands of Crimean Tatars began the ascent of Chatyr-Dah in memory of deportation victims

флаг 11About three thousand Crimean Tatars began the ascent of the Crimean mountain of Chatyr-Dah. It is the action within the framework of the events arranged to coincide with the 71st anniversary of deportation of the Crimean Tatar People. Krym.Realii informs about that.  

“Those here present, who are mostly young people, are holding the Crimean Tatar flags. The participants move to the summit while chanting “Millet! Vatan! Kyrym!” that means “People! Motherland! Crimea!”    

It is expected that there will be the dua (prayer) held in memory of those perished during the deportation in 1944 and participants will perform the Crimean Tatar national anthem at the Chatyr-Dah summit.  

The ascent of Chatyr-Dah is a traditional action held by the Crimean youth every year since 2010. The young generation representatives gather together from all over the peninsula in order to pay the tribute to the memory of deportation victims in 1944. 

The organizers of the ascent are the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the Spiritual administration of Muslims of Crimea and also Crimean Tatar public and youth organizations.
