At midnight on the first of April the ATR and Lale TV channels and also the Lider and Meydan radio stations will stop their broadcasting in Crimea. The general director of the ATR media holding company Elzara Islyamova informed about that at the press-conference.
The search in the ATR TV channel’s office and confiscation of equipment are the violation of press freedom.
In her words, none of these mass media got the Russian licenses, despite the fact that they filed documents to the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) for the fourth time and for some media – for the fifth time.
“Unfortunately, numerous requests of non-governmental organizations from the whole world, our viewers, muftiate and many respected organizations haven’t been heard. We haven’t received legal documents allowing us to perform the broadcasting activity,” Islyamova explained.
She stressed that the TV channel will seek the legal forms to resume its broadcasting.
The media holding company owner Lenur Islyamov added that as of today, the ATR TV channel is still able to go to the satellite broadcasting and broadcast via the Internet. In addition, its Ukrainian license is still valid.
