The USA ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt called the searches of the Crimean Tatar channel ATR conducted by the Russian authorities as a shame, the newspaper Segodnya reports. In the American ambassador’s opinion, this incident can be added to the list of crimes of the Russians in occupied Crimea.
“The Russian masked raid on the Crimean Tatar TV channel ATR is a shame. It can be added in the list of the crimes in occupied Crimea,” Pyatt wrote in Twitter.
As a reminder, on January 26 the Russian enforcers accompanied by the armed riflemen stormed into the building of the Crimean Tatar channel ATR for the purpose of confiscation of videos made near the State Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea during the events of February 26, 2014. In the evening of the very same day, after conducting the search the Russian law enforcement officers stopped investigative activities and left. The Crimean authorities do not admit their complicity to the events in the ATR channel. In the evening of the very same day, ATR resumed broadcasting in the analog format after the interruptions caused by the investigative activities.
