The Investigative Department of the Russia’s FSB Office in Crimea and Sevastopol initiated and now investigates a criminal case against the director of the branch of the SUE Krymskie morskie porty Yalta Trade Port Dmitry Petrov. Kryminform reports about that.
According to the information that the FSB press service provided the media, the port director is suspected of abuse of his official position that resulted in a shortfall of almost 6.5 million rubles of ship charter’s income.
“The investigation found that Petrov as a director of the nationalized company received its belongings on May 31, but contrary to the interests of the Yalta Trade Port, didn’t take necessary measures to re-issue and re-register the bareboat charter’s contract signed in 2012,” the department informs.
The FSB says that according to the agreement, the Ltd. “NordShipKom” (St.Petersburg) charted the ship “Pyotr Lidov” qualified as permanent assets of the enterprise, however, in the period from May 31, 2014 up to June 22, 2015 the charterer has not received a bill for service, and, correspondingly, the payments under the contract haven’t been made.
In this regard, as the department informs, the Yalta Trade Port had a lost profit in the amount of 6,414,892 rubles in the period from June 18 up to November 30, 2014.
They noted that the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case against Petrov under the Article – “abuse of power”. The Article provides imprisonment for a term of up to four years. The investigation is now in progress.
There is no information about a criminal case initiated against this person at the website of the Crimean Investigative Committee. The position of the accused is also still unknown.
