Citizens of foreign countries will be denied entry to the territory of mainland Ukraine from Crimea, if they came to the peninsula not through the Ukrainian checkpoints. The assistant chairman of the Ukrainian State Border Service Oleh Slobodyan said that in a conversation with TASS.

“Foreigners who came to the territory of Crimea through inactive checkpoints and then try to pass through official border crossing checkpoints are listed as persons illegally crossed the state border of Ukraine earlier and, most likely, they will be denied further crossing the Ukrainian border through official checkpoints,” Slobodyan said.

At the same time, he assured that foreign citizens would have no problems, “if they came to Crimea and left Crimea through the administrative border of Ukraine”.

Restrictions on entry into the country won’t affect the population of Crimea, including foreign residents. “If they confirm living in Crimea, they can enter,” the employee of the State Border Service said.

On June 10, the Ukrainian government decree that obligates foreigners and stateless persons to receive a special permit for entry to the territory of Crimea from Ukraine and exit from the peninsula.
