The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the procedure for entry to the Crimean occupied territory. This decision of June 4 was published on the government website.
According to the document, it is possible to enter and leave the territory of the peninsula just through checkpoints that work round-the-clock.
Ukrainian citizens need to have the document confirming their citizenship (national or foreign passports, service, diplomatic passports, seafarer’s identity card, child’s travel document) to cross the administrative border.
Foreigners and stateless persons can cross the border using passport documents and a special permit issued by the State Migration Service.
Special permits are issued in the case of the residence of foreigner’s or stateless person’s close relatives or family members in the temporarily occupied territory, close relatives’ or family members’ burial places located in the territory of Crimea, close relatives’ or family members’ death.
The reason for getting a special permit is the right of ownership of real estate properties in Crimea, the need to participate in protection of national interests of Ukraine for the purpose of the peaceful conflict settlement, the liberation of the Ukrainian territory from the occupation or for humanitarian policy matters.
Control checkpoints of entry to and exit from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine for road transport are “Kalanchak”, “Chaplynka” and “Chongar”.
Control checkpoints of entry to and exit from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine for railway communication are “Kherson”, “Melitopol”, “Vadim” and “Novoalekseevka”.
