Public Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine suspects 3 thousand Crimean military men in treason against the State

bae30-0000000The Public Prosecutor’s Office announced the suspicion of high treason and desertion committed by 3 thousand military men in Crimea. Military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoliy Matios informed about that during a briefing, the TV channel “112 Ukraine” reports.

“More than 3 thousand men were placed under the suspicion. They will be liable for the crimes they committed,” Matios said.

The prosecutor emphasized that judicial proceedings under the article of desertion and high treason were initiated against those, who didn’t move to mainland Ukraine.

“As for the military. The military men who didn’t move to mainland Ukraine and stayed on the annexed territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea are more than 5 thousand people of different types of corps such as aviation, naval forces as well as other troops. Such judicial proceedings as treason against the State and desertion were initiated against them,” Matios said.

As a reminder, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings against the deputies and officials of Crimea, who are in involved in separatist activities.
