On September 27, the classes began in the Taurida National V.I. Vernadsky University that was reopened in mainland Ukraine – in Kiev.
On September 26, the opening ceremony of the V.I. Vernadsky TNU was held in the premises of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
“This is a triumph of the spirit, a triumph of the will. Nobody can close the Taurida National University, nobody can bring an end to its history. Both the teachers, students, parents and the Ukrainian government agreed with this and the university has been revived again a hundred years later. To my mind, it will meet the same glorious destiny as the Taurida University we all graduated from,” the acting head of the university Vladimir Kazarin said in the comments to Krym.Realii.
According to the website of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a Resolution to merge the Academy of Municipal Management with the V.I. Vernadsky TNU on September 27.
In accordance with this decision, the Taurida National V.I. Vernadsky University becomes the legal successor of all property, rights and obligations of the Academy of Municipal Management.
As a reminder, the occupational authorities incorporated the Taurida National University into the Crimean Federal University (CFU) as the Taurida Academy in Crimea.
