Sevastopol exports decreased in 20 times compared to 2013

Sevastopol export volumes decreased in 20 times compared to the preoccupation period.

внешняя торговляThe ‘Director of the Economics Department’ Elimdar Akhmetov reported that, the press service of the city ‘government’ informed. 

“The dynamics of Sevastopol foreign trade in this January-June is as follows: the export turnover amounted to $2 million. For comparison, this figure was $39 million in 2013,” Akhmetov said.

According to the official, sanctions of the West had a critical role in reducing the export turnover. Also, Sevastopol hopes for the restoration of trade relations with Egypt and Turkey introduced by Russia.  

“But we hope that the restriction of wheat exports from the Republic of Crimea to Egypt will be removed soon. Thus, our grain terminals will actively operate,” Akhmetov stressed.

As a reminder, the foreign trade turnover of Crimea has decreased by 11 times during two years of occupation.
