Sevastopol ‘authorities’ informed that there may be power cuts due to shortage of electricity with the beginning of the heating season.
“We may face with shortage of electricity of about 25-30 megawatts during this heating season. There are diesel generator sets in the amount of 388 pieces in the city that will allow to compensate for power shortages,” the ‘acting director of the Municipal Service Department’ Andrey Chibisov said.
According to the official, the problem is that the electricity supplied to the city by the energy bridge won’t be enough in the winter, when the temperature drops below 20 degrees Celsius and the power consumption is increasing.
As a reminder, after Ukrainian electricity supplies to the peninsula occupied by Russia have been stopped in the autumn of 2015, there was a serious power shortage. In December 2015, the occupation authorities announced the launch of two lines of the energy bridge from the Kuban, which allegedly supplied 400 MW of electricity. Another two similar lines were launched in May 2016. As a result, according to occupants, about 800 MW are supplied to Crimea from the Krasnodar Krai.
