Despite the large meeting announced by the local authorities, its organizers remained unsatisfied because of number of participants. Krym.Realii reports about that.
According to a correspondent of the media, less than 1500 people took part in the event. In addition, some of participants of the meeting complained about bad management and inactivity of the local population pointing at the partially filled Nakhimov’s square.
The meeting began at 17.50 by local time and lasted for about 20 minutes.
According to Krym.Realii, at first organizers of the event turned on the national anthem of Russia, but suddenly it broke off and they started to play march “Legendary Sevastopol”.
Local officials and representatives of the pro-government civil groups made speeches in front of participants of the meeting. When addressing to those present, the governor of Sevastopol Sergiy Menyaylo congratulated them on behalf of the Minister of Defense of Russia Sergiy Shoygu with the first anniversary of “returning to the home harbor”.
Participants of the meeting kept in hand the state flag of the Russian Federation, flags of the United Russia political party and the civil group Russia-wide National Front and symbolism of other public organizations.
Entrance of the citizens to the Nakhimov’s square was performed through the walk-through-metal-detection equipment that was observed by the police, cossacks and citizens wearing uniform of the “self-defense force of Sevastopol”.
After the meeting a concert with the participation of artists and on-stage performance groups took place on the square.
As a reminder, the anniversary of the “referendum” is celebrated in Crimea this week.
