Crimean gun owners are forced to surrender it. The “head” of the permits and licensing department of the Crimean MIA Mikhail Gotovkin informed about that, the newspaper Svezhaya gazeta reports.
Thus, Crimeans who have a traumatic weapon certified according to Ukrainian rules will have to go through the Russian certification or surrender the ownership.
Gotovkin informed that there were no certification centers in Crimea, so Crimeans would have to apply to Russian plants. In this case, plant representatives will come to Crimea to arrange the tests and issue the documents. All this will be on a fee paid basis.
Another option is to surrender a weapon for liquidation and buy a new one with the Russian certificate.
If a citizen doesn’t make a choice until October 1, his weapon will be simply removed. But there are about 7.5 thousand registered traumatic weapons in Crimea.
