Russian scientists are concerned about the active destruction of the Crimean coast. This is stated in the report on expedition results of the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Science in the Southern Federal University, RIA Novosti informs.
“Conclusions: there are mostly abrasion and abrasion/deposition shores on the Kerch peninsula, which are destroyed by water and formed by coastal sediments,” the report says.
According to the Russian scientists, the highest risk is connected with the shore in the area of the Cape Zyuk to the Kerch peninsula that falls back averagely at 1.6 meter a year, and from the east side of the Kazantip Gulf to the Cape Zyuk – at 1.1 meter a year. The coast there is actively destroyed.
The coast near Nasyr, Zavodskoe, Kurortnoye, Geroyevskoye, Cheledinovo, Zavetnoye and Yakovenkovo settlements were designated as dangerous sections of the Kerch peninsula.
According to scientists, all these processes were also caused by anthropogenic factors – hydrotechnical constructions in the coastal zone, buildings on beaches and coastal dunes, removal of sand and pebble stones from the beaches.
