On Wednesday, April 13, the “prosecutor” of the occupied Crimea Natalya Poklonskaya issued a decision to suspend the activities of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people. TASS informed about that.
“Today I made a decision to suspend the activities of the public association “Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people” in order to prevent violations of federal law,” Poklonskaya said.
The “prosecutor” refers to articles 9 and 10 of the Federal Law “On Countering Extremist Activities” in her decision.
It is noted that a copy of the document was given to the Majlis representatives and the decision of the “prosecutor’s office” was sent to the Russian Ministry of Justice to include it in the general list of public and religions associations, the activities of which were suspended on the territory of the Russian Federation.
