It is planned to provide one-two hours per week to study the state Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages in schools of occupied Crimea. The first “Deputy Minister” of Education, Science and Youth of Crimea Natalya Zhurba announced that, the media Novosty Kryma reports.
“Just one-two hours per week that can be provided for studying the Crimean Tatar or Ukrainian language are allowed in the current curriculum sent to us by the Federal Ministry of Education,” she said.
According to her, in addition to the Russian, introduction of one or two compulsory state languages to study in educational institutions of Crimea is possible only by means of the distribution of hours reserved for the Russian language learning. In the opinion of the “official”, it is unacceptable, as currently pupils don’t have enough allocated hours of the Russian language to prepare successfully for the Unified State Exam.
