The center aimed to preserve Ukrainian identity and culture in Crimea – “Ukrainian cultural center” – will appear in Simferopol. The activist Leonid Kuzmin wrote that on his page in Facebook.
“At the present historical stage, consolidation of the scattered Ukrainian nation that populates the Crimean peninsula becomes the main task. This is the necessary condition for mobilization of the spiritual potential of Crimean Ukrainians,” he wrote.
One of the main tasks of the center is going to be renaissance of the Ukrainian language and establishment of contacts with national societies of Crimea.
“Ukrainian Cultural Center puts stress on people with active attitudes,” the activist adds.
