The “parliament” of Crimea banned the sale of low-alcohol beverages and restricted the sale of non-alcoholic energy drinks. RIA Krym informs about that.
“It is not allowed to sell low-alcohol tonic beverages on the territory of the Republic of Crimea,” the law adopted at the session of the Crimean “parliament” on Wednesday says.
It is prohibited to sell non-alcoholic tonic beverages to persons under the age of 18 years, in children’s, educational and medical institutions, in the territory of health and fitness and sports facilities as well as places of mass cultural events.
One of the authors of the law Vladislav Ganzhara believes that the adoption of this law was a necessary step for Crimea.
“A range of chemical elements, which are found in alcoholic energy drinks, cause serious oncological diseases, damage of DNA structure and more. The combination of caffeine and alcohol causes tremendous harm to the human nervous system,” Ganzhara said.
Violation of the law will be punished by a fine in the amount of 1.5 to 50 thousand rubles (700- 25,000 hryvnyas).
