In Kyrgyzstan the local police detained the former chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People Mustafa Dzhemilev. It is said on the Facebook page of the Presidential Commissioner on Crimean Tatar Affairs.
The incident occurred at the airport in Bishkek, where Dzhemilev arrived to attend the international conference. The Kyrgyz police held him for three hours. After the Ukrainian consulate intervened in the situation, Dzhemilev and his advisor Rustem Umerov were released. Now they are taking part in the conference “Migration in Central Asia”.
“All these actions at the airport are the order of the Kyrgyzstan owners, whose location is well-known,” Dzhemilev commented the incident.
According to representatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kyrgyz side has already apologized for the incident at the airport.
