Airports of Crimea lost virtually all the passenger flow in 2014. Information regarding results of the activity of aviation industry enterprises, which were provided by the State Air Service, speaks about that, “Ukrayinska Pravda” reports.
The media informs that the passenger flow of the airfield “Belbek” was 24 thousand passengers, including 10 thousand people of the international directions, in 2013. In 2014 departures were completely absent. Before the annexation the airport of Simferopol used to serve 1.2 million passengers. But only 95.5 thousand people (92%) used its services for the whole year 2014, Ukrayinska Pravda writes.
On the other hand, passenger flow appeared in the airport of Kherson that neighbors with Crimea: almost 8 thousand passengers of international directions. As the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure Andrey Pivovarskiy explained, Turkish companies that used to work in Crimea in the past came to Kherson.
Generally, the passenger flow of the Ukrainian airports decreased by 28% in 2014.
