Problems with mobile communication, impossibility to use bank cards in the peninsula, logistics system that is not fully established as well as certain media coverage related to the events in Ukraine are among the main threats of the holiday season failure in Crimea. The “minister of resorts and tourism” of Crimea Elena Yurchenko said that, “Argumenty Nedeli – Krym” reports.
Such conclusions were made following the results of the visit of representatives of the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm) in Crimea.
“That’s four main risks, which were identified and removing of which strategic forces of the tourism industry of both Crimea and Russia are aimed at,” the head of the department explained.
She also noted that, in general, Rosturizm appraised the tourist infrastructure on the peninsula highly, but the Crimean “Ministry” understood perfectly well that it was needed to do much more than it has already been done.
“There were no claims made to the tourism industry as such. It was noted that material and technical facilities and room capacity of a fairly large number of objects don’t fully comply with those requirements that a Russian tourist has today,” Yurchenko said and added that issues related to roads, external advertising media and hospitality infrastructure also required quick resolution.
We reported previously that hundreds of thousands tourists were expected to come during the May holidays in Crimea and Sevastopol. Elena Yurchenko herself announced that.
