севастопольThe government of Sevastopol acknowledges unsatisfying results of the economic development of the city last year.  The “head” of the economic development department of Sevastopol Elimdar Akhtemov announced that during the meeting of the “government”, e-Krym informs.

He noted that enterprises of Sevastopol lost traditional product markets in connection to the cutoff of the railway transportation service.

“Following the results of 2014, the index of the industrial production amounted 87.7.  It is connected with the decline of production on such enterprises as “Balaklava Ore Melting” due to the fact that the main supplies were carried out in Ukraine and reorientation of our shipbuilding enterprises because of changes in legislation and the need of licensing,” the official informed.

According to his words, last year the index of the industrial production amounted 90.1% in Crimea and 101.7% throughout Russia.

The construction volume amounted 90.1% in comparison with the previous year in Sevastopol. Akhtemov explained that it was connected with the temporary interdiction of constructing activities in the city.

The volume of the freight traffic has also decreased. The main reason of it is interruption in work of the harbor within a few months.

At the same time he noted that despite the sanctions, foreign trade didn’t decay. “If the factor of sanctions influences on cooperation with the EU countries, then repartition of the economical activities on such countries as Turkey, Lebanon, India, Cyprus takes place. Our enterprises were also able to reorient,” Akhtemov said.

The official also informed that the standard of average wages has increased in the city, but the prices for the consumers’ goods have also increased by one-third. This is why the volume of the retail sales decreased in 20%.

As a reminder, on February 26, it was reported in Crimea that the first level of the industrial development of the peninsula as a part of Russia had been passed.
