The Crimean “self-defense force” acquired the status of a state enterprise. “The head” of Crimea Sergey Aksenov informed about that, the online media Lenta-ru reports.
“It is a state unitary enterprise. It participates in guards of critical infrastructures of Crimea, patrols streets together with the police. It is a usual state-agency for today,” Aksenov noted.
As a reminder, representatives of the Crimean “self-defense force” actively participated in seizure of the building of the Bakhchisaray Consumer Cooperative and structure of the main winery “Massandra”.
As reference. The Crimean “self-defense force” (people’s militia) has been founded for protection of the peninsula on February 23, 2014. In July 2014 the status of the “people’s militia” has been legalized by a corresponding document. The “self-defense force” (people’s militia, vigilante group) has been recognized as an “association formed in aid of cooperation with the public authorities of the Republic of Crimea and the law enforcement agencies in providing of public order”.
