The prime-minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk signed a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers №23 from January 30, 2015 according to which operation of certain provisions of interstate agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on free-visa travel of citizens of the both states, the press-service of the prime-minister informs.
In particular, paragraphs regarding the entrance in Ukraine using the internal Russian passport and the certificate of birth of a child are revoked.
“We revoke internal passport and certificate of birth as a reason of entrance of the Ukrainian state boarder,” the prime-minister said.
Yatsenyuk noted that these measures are caused by the necessity of strengthening of control on the Ukrainian-Russian boarder and aims at “implementation of the European rules of the state border crossing.”
According to this resolution, the noted provision of law will be implemented from the May 1, 2015.
Besides that, the prime-minister Yatsenyuk entrusted the State Migration Service and the State Border Service to establish monitoring the period of stay of citizens of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, and also entrusted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to introduce a draft of the solution for the adjustment of issues of local border traffic with the Russian Federation to the European standards, the press-service of the Cabinet of Ministers informs.
