During the round table meeting “Solving of the regular problems in the energy sector: selection criteria and honest competitive selection for posts” the expert on energy issues Svetlana Golikova noted that Ukraine lost its energy influence in Crimea. RBK-Ukraine informs about that.
“We have lost the energy influence in Crimea and also the openness of our energy market,” the expert said.
Estimating the agreement on the electricity distribution in Crimea, she noted, the agreement is a political one and Ukraine has lost as a result of its conclusion.
Golikova compared the priority of activity of the Ministry of Energy with the Ministry of Defense, because “there is also an energy war against Russia going on.”
“There is a war going on right now, an energy war against the enemy, which is beating us up on many battlefields. The military meaning of the Ministry of Energy and energy economy in general is underestimated,” the expert noted.
At the same time, according to Golikova, the Russian Federation uses its energy resources to the fullest as an aggressor state and Ukraine, in the contrary, is taking casualties, in particular, because of unprofessionalism of the staff in the FEC field. One of the examples of such unprofessional activity is exactly the agreement with Russia on import of the electrical energy, in which a lot of violations and discrepancies with the national interests of Ukraine have been revealed.
As a reminder, on December 2014 Crimean consumers faced the deficit of the electrical energy delivered on the territory of the peninsula from the mainland, causing emergency shutdowns. In the end of 2014 the state-run enterprise “Ukrinterenergo” and “Inter RAO” signed contract on delivery of the electrical energy from Russia.
