Deputies of the Russian State Duma suggested to charge reparation from Germany because of the attack of Germany on the USSR in 1941. The newspaper “Izvestiya” reports about that.
“In fact, Germany didn’t pay any reparations to the USSR for the destruction and beastliness during the Great Patriotic War. An agreement has been made with the GDR about cessation of levy of reparations after the war. Such agreements with the FRG, let alone the united Germany haven’t been made, and it means that the issue is still open,” the deputy of the LDPR party Mikhail Degtyarev announced.
The working group should start estimating the sum of reparations. According to the calculations of the deputy, the total reparation “should be not less than three-four billion Euros in current prices,” which, according to his opinion, “Germany has to pay to the cessionary of the USSR – to Russia.”
As a reminder, recently the head chairman of the State Duma Sergey Naryshkin entrusted the committee on foreign affairs to work out a possibility of adoption of the announcement condemning “the annexation of the German Democratic Republic by the Federative Republic of Germany in 1989.”
