электро линиии электропередач“The State Council” of Crimea decided to nationalize PJSC “DTEK Krymenergo” with the purpose of “providing the energy security of the peninsula.” 66 deputies of the “parliament” voted for this decision, Kryminform reports.

Sergey Aksenov called this decision one of the landmark decisions in the modern history of Crimea.

“I’m sure that Crimeans will meet that decision with enthusiasm. You all know the way “Krymenergo” have been working in recent years, especially after its privatization: double advance payments for businessmen, real money extortion from various companies on various grounds,” “the head” of Crimea said at a parliamentary session.

According to him, the nationalized property can be used in a more efficient way.

“We think that the energy industry should belong to the state, and in this case, our actions are primarily focused on the interests of the republic and Russia,” Aksenov explained.

As a reminder, the Donetsk company DTEK that was a part the SCM group owned by the Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov held 57.49% of shares of PJSC “Krymenergo”. NAC “Energy Company of Ukraine” held 25% of company’s shares. The State Property Fund of Ukraine planned to sell them in 2014. A 10.77% shareholder was the company Garensia Enterprises Limited.

The total length of power lines of “DTEK Krymenergo” is 31.9 thousand kilometers. The total capacity of its 270 transformer substations for 35- 110 kV is 6,028 MVA.
