The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Valeria Lutkovska wants to visit Crimea together with the Russian ombudsman Ella Pamfilova and the Council of Europe Commissioner Nils Muiznieks. Lutkovska said about that in comments carried by Krym.Realii.
According to Lutkovska, such a step is needed to make an objective assessment.
“I received a letter from Pamfilova saying that she has nothing against a joint visit to Crimea but I would like this trip to Crimea was not in a format of two ombudsmen because we both have the right to have a politically influenced point of view and it will be difficult to confirm the objectivity of each of us without the third person party,” Lutkovska said.
Lutkovska has already addressed a proposal about a joint visit to Crime to Muiznieks. For this moment, we just need to agree on the participation of the Council of Europe Commissioner with the Russian ombudsman.
“I have his consent and now I am going to ask Ella Pamfilova to make this visit for three persons, so then we can speak about an objective assessment of the situation,” Lutkovska said.
