The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine instructed the government to start the procedure of appealing to the Hague Tribunal regarding “crimes against humanity committed by terrorists against the Ukrainian citizens in 2014 – 2015 and the recognition of “the DNR” and “the LNR” as terrorist organizations. This decision was made based on the results of the emergency meeting the NSDC emergency meeting on January 25.
“In order to step up the pressure on Russia, the NSDC adopted a decision to use the mandatory sanctions imposed by the EU countries, the Swiss Confederation, the USA and the Group of Seven countries on the Russian Federation in the territory of Ukraine and moved forward a proposal to step up them,” the statement said.
According to the discussion results, the government is planning to create civil affairs/military administration units in the ATO zone to ensure the safety and daily living activities of the population on these territories.
Also it was adopted the decisions regarding the state defence order to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and other military formations with new weapons and military equipment.
