State Border Service: There won’t be any railway communication with Crimea

поезд уехалThe State Border Service rules out the resumption of railway communication with Crimea that was annexed by Russia in the near future. The Assistant Chairman of the State Border Service, head of the press service Oleg Slobodyan informed about that, Ukrainski Novyny reports.

He noted that a lot of attention is paid to railway communication in the procedure of crossing of the administrative border with Crimea approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on June 4 only because of the fact that this document was drafted at the time, when there was railway connection with the peninsula. 

“Railway communication was ceased and won’t be resumed in the near future,” Slobodyan said.

He also stated that the State Border Service didn’t communicate with Russian border guards on the settlement of the Crimean administrative border crossing issue.    

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure of crossing the border with Crimea on June 4.
