“The FSB border guard” of Crimea acquired the first battleship of the “Izumrud” project that is capable to carry a helicopter from Russia. TASS informs about that.
Displacement of the new ship is about 700 tons.
“Considering its displacement, operational and physical characteristics, this ship will serve in the economical zone and in the continental shelf, neighboring with the Crimean peninsula. The ship is capable to perform all the tasks that stand in front of the cost watch of the border guard,” the “head of the border guard administration of the FSB of Russia” in Crimea Gennady Medvedev said.
The new ship’s crew consists of 20 people including Crimeans.
