Russian border guards temporarily closed checkpoint “Chongar”

чонгарRussian border guards temporarily closed the checkpoint “Chongar” in Crimea for technical reasons. Kerch FM reports that quilting the press service chief of the State Border Service Oleg Slobodyan. 

In this regard, the Ukrainian State Border Service recommends citizens travelling to the peninsula to enter through other checkpoints.  

“According to our citizens crossing the administrative border with Crimea, the electronic data system has failed at the Russian checkpoint and they don’t pass the cars with Ukrainian registration numbers and trucks, in other words, those who require to be legally registered,” Slobodyan said.

“As for us, we responded to this situation. There is the checkpoint, where citizens are recommended to use other checkpoints to enter Crimea, on the road from Berdyansk,” he added.

Earlier, posts that Russian border guards closed the checkpoint “Chongar” for vehicles were published in social networks.

“Only Crimean cars and pedestrians are allowed to pass the border. There was a fire, the customs server room was burned down,” one of the users of the Facebook social network wrote.
