The desire to spend a vacation in Crimea is not a ground for foreign citizens to enter the peninsula from the territory of Ukraine.
The spokesman of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Sergey Gunko said that at the briefing in Kiev, UNIAN informs.
“In regard to foreigners. The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers clearly defined grounds, on which foreigners could obtain such a permit and consequently, go and travel to the Crimean peninsula. Today, the desire to spend a vacation in Crimea is not a ground for a foreigner to enter the Crimean peninsula,” he said.
So, in his words, the ground for issuance of such a permit is the residence of close relatives in the territory of Crimea, close relatives’ burial places, close relative’s death or the right of ownership of real estate properties on the peninsula.
According to Sergey Gunko, about 500 foreigners in total have applied to the State Migration Service of Ukraine for obtaining such a permit as of the effective date of this regulation. About 350 permits have been already issued.
