Ex-Minister of Crimean Tourism: Russia invested in Crimea in 2014 6 times less than Ukraine before

Александр ЛиевAs the former Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea, now the Adviser to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Aleksandr Liev reports, Russia invested in the development of the Crimean tourism in 2014 6 times less than Ukraine did the year before. 

He said that on the Ukrainian 5 Kanal, Krym.Realii reports.

“If there were 1.2 billion hryvnyas invested in Crimean tourism in 2013, then in 2014, Russia declared its support for tourism in Crimea having invested only 200 million hryvnyas there. This year, the sum is very small – 100 million, if you count in the Ukrainian currency,” Liev said.

Earlier, Crimean authorities reported that they met the second millionth tourist of that year on July 15. Crimea expects to have a total of 4.3 million tourists in 2015 and this is 15% more than in 2014. In 2013, Crimea had six million tourists, which is a record figure over the years of Ukraine’s independence.
