The “authorities” of Crimea expect that 4.3 million tourists will visit the peninsula in 2015. The Crimean resorts and tourism “Minister” Elena Yurchenko said about that at the press-conference, the “government’s” press-service informs.
According to Yurchenko, the main stream of tourists will be Russian citizens.
“We hope also that the percentage of citizens of other countries from the total number of tourists will increase to 23% as compared with the previous year. Forecast indicators of the season’s success depend on transport accessibility of the peninsula,” Elena Yurchenko said.
In the words of the “Minister”, it is planned to increase the pass-through capacity of the Kerch Strait ferry line up to 50 thousand people and 10 thousand vehicles per day, and also it is expected to expand the geography of air travel to the peninsula in 2015.
Also it is promised that the income from the tourist industry of the Republic of Crimea will reach at least 125 billion rubles in 2015.
As a reminder, according to Yurchenko, 3.1 million people visited the peninsula last year, although they expected to have 6 million. The tourist flow decreased by 44.5% compared with 2013.
In 2014 1.1 billion rubles were received to the budget of Crimea that is 25% less than figures of 2013.
