As the press service of the company “Crimean Railways” informed, the volume of freight and passenger operations of the Crimean railway decreased to 11% over the past year, RIA Novosti reports.
The yearly volume of work performed by the Crimean railway amounted to 40% in all-freight operations and 21% – in passenger transportation compared to 2013. In the first quarter of 2015, traffic volumes decreased to 11% due to the complete cessation of railway traffic from Ukraine to Crimea and the limited carrying capacity of the ferry line,” the press service informed.
It is reported that this led to the staff surplus and reduction in the company’s income.
