Ukrainian citizens can sell their agricultural plots in Crimea only prior to August 1. The director of the law firm “Consulting Center” Marina Episheva informed about that at the press-conference, Krym Media reports.
There will be a moratorium on selling agricultural lands starting from August 1, 2015 up to January 1, 2016.
Episheva said that as of today, no sale of land performed by the Ukrainians was registered in Crimea.
According to her, now the situation with the land is catastrophic in Crimea, because the Ukrainians “left millions of lands here”.
The lawyer of the Moscow Bar Association Rada Milochkina said that under the Russian law, the Ukrainians couldn’t own agricultural lands, because they are foreigners.
“After Crimea became a part of the Russian Federation, the Ukrainians became foreign owners automatically. There is a scheme for them: either they surrender all claims to the property and take a lease of it or sell the land,” the lawyer said.
