Crimea needs Ukrainian milk

молоко УкраїнаCrimean manufacturers of dairy products lack their own raw milk and they ask the “authorities” to establish a simplified admittance regime for milk from Ukraine. The deputy director general of Krymmoloko Petr Nikitin announced about that on the interdepartmental meeting in Simferopol, e-Krym informs.

The official stressed that the enterprise receives raw milk for processing from private farms, populations and Ukrainian enterprises. Crimean suppliers constantly raise prices: if a liter of milk cost RUR 18 in October then the price got up to RUR 26 a liter in January. “The less Ukrainian milk there is on the market, the higher price is fixed by Crimean suppliers,”  Nikitin noted.

Representatives of retail chains confirm, there is deficit of dairy products in Crimea. “Nowadays ordering dairy products for the chain, we receive 25% from the order. As a consequence, these 25% suffice till the middle of the selling day, till noon. There is nothing to substitute the products, our Crimean suppliers are not able to satisfy all the orders made by the chains,” noted the director of the retail chain ATB Irina Rumyantseva.

Reference: Generally, the dairy products market of Crimea has been provided with raw milk from Ukraine and today it is impossible to completely substitute these deliveries. After the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance implemented limitations for deliveries of Ukrainian milk, severe shortage appeared on the peninsula that forced the Crimean “authorities” to apply to the Federal government with request of derestriction.
