Damages on the Simferopol-Yalta highway caused by the fall of the tank into the ditch will be eliminated at the expense of the military. The first “vice-prime minister” of Crimea Mikhail Sheremet said that, the press service of the Crimean “Council of Ministers” reports.
According to him, the tank was transported in violation of safety regulations, without adequate escort and notice to representatives of local authorities.
“Thank God that there were no victims. The military were presented with pre-court bills to compensate damages,” Sheremet said.
According to the “vice-prime minister” Dmitry Polonskiy, the military procurator’s office has already started to investigate the incident with the tank.
“The military procurator’s office investigates the incident. Violations are obvious: the tank was transported without escort vehicles in daylight hours. Law enforcement officers have to find out the reasons. Our task was to resume the road traffic as soon as possible,” RIA Novosti reports Polonskiy as saying.
On July 10, the tank that was transported on a truck tractor overturned and fell into the ditch on the Simferopol-Yalta highway near the Perevalnoe village. The tank damaged transmission line poles and stopped the trolleybus transportation to the South Coast of Crimea.
Ten-kilometer traffic jam appeared on the road because of the accident.
