On Friday the Ukrainian State Inspectorate for Safety of land transportation informed on its website that passenger transportation has been suspended.
It has been said that bus services had been canceled “because of radicalization of the situation in Autonomous Republic of Crimea and invasion of the Ukrainian territory by armed groups, extremist-minded persons and military aggression from the Russian Federation and for the purpose of avoiding danger to life of passengers.”
The Ukrainian State Transportation Inspection addressed letters to automobile transporters and bus station owners demanding to stop sales of tickets and transportation of passengers on bus routes that connect the continental part of Ukraine with the territory of Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Directors of the local facilities of the Ukrainian State Transportation Inspection have been entrusted within personal responsibility to inform automobile transporters and associations of bus stations to suspend transportation of passengers and sales of tickets.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian Railways stopped passenger and cargo transportation to Crimea.
