Taxi drivers overpriced their services in the Simferopol airport. This issue was discussed during the meeting of the working group of the Interdepartmental Council on holiday season, the press service of the “Council of Ministers” informs.
For example, according to the “deputy minister” of resorts and tourism of Crimea Olga Burovaya, the cost of travel from the Crimean capital’s airport to Yalta exceeds a flight price from the mainland to the peninsula in some cases.
“The cost of one kilometer amounts to 99 rubles. If we take, for instance, a transfer service from the Simferopol airport to Yalta, 100 kilometers will cost 9 thousand 900 rubles, or a price for one person in a car will be 2 thousand 475 rubles. If we compare this with the cost of a subsidized ticket on a tourist’s place of residence to a place of resort, a transfer service may be more than a flight cost from one or another city,” Burova explained.
Considering numerous complains of tourists, Burova addressed the “Ministry” of Transport that gives a license to taxi services with a request to check the availability of these licenses and conduct explanatory work regarding tariff policy together with law enforcement officers.
However, the representative of the “Ministry of Transport” said that tariff policy issues are under the jurisdiction of the “State Committee on prices” that should solve the problem with taxi fare reduction.
Following the results of the meeting, it was decided to take measures to provide tourists with the information about possible transfer services from the airport by all means of transport.
