35 of 66 beaches were recognized public in Yevpatoria. The Department for Public Relations and Mass Media of the city administration informed about that, Kryminform reports.
“7 municipal beaches were accessible to the public in the holiday season of 2014,” the administration said.
According to the decision of the city council, this summer 11 beaches, 3 of which are rented, will operate as opened for general use in the village Zaozernoe. Free access to the sea is provided on 24 beaches within Yevpatoria.
In total, there are 66 beaches in Yevpatoria.
In accordance with the Law on Resorts, the relevant “ministry” worked out methodological recommendations for local councils to determine the functionality of beaches already in March. Local administrations were proposed to determine by themselves which beaches were therapeutic and closed for public access. The tourists should be allowed to the rest of beaches free.
At the same time, only beach areas involved in the direct process of treatment and rehabilitation in the Crimean sanatoriums that received licenses for medical services can be included to the category of “therapeutic beaches”. The total area of such beaches can’t exceed 10% of the coastline in the region.
