Pioneer movement is planned to be revived in Crimea

пионерыThe “chairman” of the State Council’s Committee on Information Policy, Communications and Mass Media, the head of the LDPR parliamentary faction Sergey Shuvaynikov proposed to revive the pioneer movement in Crimea, while filling it with new content. He announced that at the meeting of the “parliamentary committee” on May 19.

“Our children under the age of 10-12 years are a little bit deprived. The movement should include not an ideological but a state political component. Timur movement, respect for elders, hiking tours are the things that our children need,” Shuvaynikov said.

In his turn, the “vice prime minister” of Crimea, the minister of Internal Policy, Information and Communications Dmitriy Polonskiy said that the first step towards the pioneers has been already made, because new uniform for Artek contains an item of pioneer clothing – a red tie.           

The Vladimir Lenin All-Union Pioneer Organization is a mass children’s organization in the Soviet Union. It was established by the decision of the All-Russian Komsomol Conference on May 19, 1922, since then May 19 is celebrated as the Pioneer Day.
