There may be 120 thousand militaries in Crimea next year

Already in 2015 the number of Russian militaries on the Crimean peninsula can reach 120 thousand people. Expert Andrey Klimenko informed “Maydan of Foreign Affairs” about that at the press-conference in Kiev.

“Russians are turning Crimea into a huge military base. According to our valuations, there will be 120 thousand of Russian military men by the mid of next year. In NATO countries 5 thousand service men are considered to be a big base,” Klimenko said.

The expert added that not only navy but also strategical aviation and guided missile system, etc. would be stationed on the peninsula.

Andrey Klimenko also noted that the Russian authority doesn’t need the agriculture in Crimea and the number of people capable to maintain a military base wouldn’t exceed a million.

“Have you thought why there hadn’t been any hysteria because of the none-working North Crimean Channel last summer? It is because they don’t need the agriculture. Less than a million people is needed to maintain a military base, that’s why the purposeful policy of displacement of disloyal population segments will be held there now,” said the expert.
