The territorial body of the 12th department of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, which deals with nuclear and technical security and support, is created as a part of the Russian military grouping in occupied Crimea. The newspaper “Sobytie” informs about that.
Military assure that nuclear weapon won’t be deployed on the peninsula.
“It is done for the security reason, for example, in case of our ships or planes enter there with nuclear propulsion system. And then, according to the job description, a small department should be present both in the navy and the air force,” the head of the 12th department Yuriy Sych explained.
