Crimean natural water reservoirs are filled to 84% due to the rains. The “deputy head” of the “State Committee” for Water Resources and Land Reclamation of Crimea Vladimir Lysenko informed about that on the air of the radio station Rossiya Segodnya (Russia Today), Krym Media reports.
At the beginning of the year, the Simferopolskoe water reservoir was filled just to 16%.
“We keep a 10% gap for some reservoirs. They have been built long ago, spillways don’t meet the technical requirements, so we have to draw down. This is Simferopolskoe, Zagorskoe and Partizanskoe water reservoirs,” Lysenko said.
He added that in the last eight days Crimea received 60 million cubic meters of water inflow that is almost five times above the norm.
