The minimum cost of living for pensioners was increased by $8 in Crimea

The ‘State Council’ of Crimea set a new minimum subsistence level for pensioners in the amount of 8554 rubles ($136) for 2017 that is 506 rubles higher ($8) than this year’s level, the press service of the Crimean ‘parliament’ reports.

“The adoption of this draft law will allow the territorial body of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation to establish social pension benefits for pensioners at their place of residence or place of stay if a total amount of their financial benefits doesn’t reach a pensioner’s minimum subsistence level set in the Republic of Crimea,” the explanatory note to the document says.

 As a reminder, Crimean pensioners will face with the reduction of social benefits in 2017.
