сухогрузThe Russian bulk carrier Fort Azov sank in the Black Sea. It is reported in the Maritime Bulletin of Mikhail Voitenko.

“There was a report that the bulk carrier Fort Azov sank near Sinop on the night of February 19, it seemed it had capsized,” the message says.

The vessel that was carrying 3,000 tons of wood proceeded from Varna in stormy weather. Supposedly, part of the cargo fell overboard.

The captain of the bulk carrier called for help while reporting about a strong list to port. The Turkish rescuers “took” a crew of 12 persons from the vessel. According to information from the report, there are no injuries.

Previously it was known that the Russians owned the ship and it was included in the “black list” because of violations of the prohibition that was put by the Ukrainian authorities to touch at the ports of occupied Crimea.
