“The population of Crimea is liable to enter into a marriage with persons of other nationalities to a greater extent,” Surinov said.

Among national groups of the peninsula the largest number of mono-ethnic marriages is among the Crimean Tatars (82%), Russians (67%), Tatars (55%), Armenians (52%), Azerbaijanis (44%) and Ukrainians (36%).

The index of mono-ethnic households is less than 20% among small-numbered peoples (Karaites, Greeks, Krymchaks, Belarusians, Bulgarians).

As a reminder, the number of women is 18% greater than the number of men among the population of Crimea.
