The Russian Federation is increasing its military presence in Crimea by deploying the army and military equipment on the occupied peninsula.
The Representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Vadim Skibitskiy reported about this fact at the briefing, the Pod Pritselom correspondent informs.
According to the HUR, the Russian military grouping in Crimea includes 24,000 soldiers, 513 tanks and armored vehicles, 162 artillery systems, about 100 combat aircrafts, 56 helicopters, 16 coastal missile systems, 30 combat surface ships and 4 submarines as of May 2016.
According to Skibitsiy, the Russians are planning to increase the number of their troops on the peninsula in two or one and a half times by 2020-2025.
