Only a quarter of Crimean cars have the Russian registration numbers

номераIn Crimea only 200 thousand out of 800 thousand cars were reregistered according to the Russian rules. The “Minister of Finance” Vladimir Levandovskiy informed about that at the visiting session of the Crimean “Council of Ministers”, the press-service of the “government” reports.

“According to the GIBDD (State Inspection for Road Traffic Safety) department, only 200 thousand out of 800 thousand vehicles have been registered in Crimea. As a result, revenues of the tax on vehicles for the quarter I amounted just to 493 thousand rubles. It is not even 1%, but 0.6%,” Levandovskiy noted.

In its turn, the “deputy head” of the Crimean department of the GIBDD Oleg Kazakov explained the slowdown in the re-registration process by extended terms for the procedure of replacement of license plate numbers and driving licenses as well as by the beginning of the holiday season.

“Now there is no fuss as it was before, the process is going on in working order,” Kryminform quotes Kazakov. He also added that it is too early to speak about specified finishing dates of the re-registration process, because “there are a small number of re-registered vehicles”.

As a reminder, the procedure of the motor vehicle registration was simplified for the Crimean car owners, who don’t have vehicle ownership documents, in April 2015.
